Inner child work

The inner child embodies characteristics of the innocent part of yourself. Within us, multiple voices often cry out for help. These voices represent different needs, all of which require specific responses appropriate to their age.

Obstacles in the present caused by learned behavior from childhood

Ineffective/awkward behaviors are behaviors and reactions of the different inner children that live within you. You learned and developed these behaviors and reactions when you were a child. At that time, the behaviors worked, but now that you are an adult, they prevent you from enjoying life to the fullest. And from interacting with others in a pleasant way.

These behaviors are linked to certain emotional events that took place during specific periods of your life. That is why inner children often appear as children of different ages. For some people, each age or each feeling is represented by a different child. For others, the same child appears, but at different ages and with different feelings.

What does inner child work involve?

A part of you, your inner child, still believes that it is in the situation it was in before, for which behavior was learned. The conclusions you drew at the time still apply to a part of you (your inner child).

One of the goals of inner child work is to uncover these conclusions and behaviors. This allows what has remained unprocessed to be processed. This in turn leads to insight, understanding, and liberation from limiting ways of thinking and acting. It also allows you to reconnect with childlike qualities such as spontaneity, humor, playfulness, creativity, and enjoyment.

“I wish many people to experience your sensitivity, curiosity, and wisdom. Also yourself and your inner children.” – Katja
