shadow work

Shadow work

We all have character traits, parts of our personality that we prefer to keep hidden in the shadows.
That is why we also refer to them as shadow parts.
During shadow work, we address the things we regularly do even though we don’t want to.
Think of jealousy, manipulation, outbursts of anger, victimhood, etc.
You can try as hard as you want to suppress your shadow pieces and hide them from others. At some point, the pressure becomes too high and there is an outburst.

Shining loving light on your shadow pieces

During shadow work, we look lovingly at your shadow parts. We let them ‘be’, without judgment. Your ‘judged’ behavior, which is not allowed to exist (by yourself or your environment), always has a reason and can also have advantages. When your shadow parts become your allies, the pressure disappears and you prevent unwanted outbursts.

We all have dark sides:

  • things we are ashamed of;
  • things we recognize in the behavior of others that annoy us so much;
  • that use compulsive behavior to avoid certain feelings, fill a void, or suppress a deep desire;
  • that manifest themselves in physical symptoms. If we systematically deny our less desirable traits, they harden and express themselves in the matter of our bodies.
